What else should I know about Jefferson Parish and its District Attorney’s office?
         
Jefferson Parish is what is known as a “white flight” suburb. Many white people choose to live there to get away from the predominantly black inner suburbs of New Orleans.
  

 
         
 
But these days many of the white folk are scared.  The black population there has increased 75% since 1980 and now 23% of the parish is black.
